The HMD Group acquired the Biens company in June 2005 and began marketing the company’s products under the Kango brand. Biens, which manufactures industrial and laboratory chairs, was the first to patent the sit-stand chair. The strengths of their chairs lie in their technical design and ergonomics.
Founded in 1982, this family-owned company employs 15 people. In 2005 Christophe Michaud took the helm and set the company on a completely new course. He had its management reorganised, a new sales policy developed, its logo changed, a website created, and new product lines developed.
With a turnover of € 2.4 million in 2007, Biens may be a small company but it has a strong impact on the market.
